Username

A unique identifier you pick to log in or be addressed on a platform. Usually called a handle on social platforms.

A username (also known as a handle, screen name, or login ID) is the short text identifier that uniquely represents you on a digital platform. On X and Reddit it follows the @ symbol; on Discord it appears with the migration to lowercase global handles after May 2023; on email it forms the local part before the @ sign. Most platforms enforce length limits between 3 and 30 characters and restrict the allowed character set to ASCII alphanumerics, underscores, periods, and dashes.
